Most FAQ about Vehicle Recalls and Campaigns

1. Why does Toyota prioritize safety?

At Toyota Canada and Funk's Toyota, ensuring the safety of our customers and their families is our top priority. We are unwavering in our commitment to providing safe products and services, valuing the confidence you place in us.

2. What is a safety recall?

A safety recall addresses any issues affecting the safe operation of a Toyota vehicle or the well-being of its occupants. Toyota undertakes these recalls to rectify problems or enhance overall performance. Regardless of warranty status or ownership history, the correction is done at no cost. To check if your vehicle is part of a safety recall, you can use the form on this page, and we will promptly notify you of any necessary adjustments.

3. What is a campaign?

A campaign addresses vehicle problems unrelated to safety concerns. There are two types: Emissions Recall, focusing on issues related to Federal emissions warranty standards, and Customer Satisfaction Notification, which addresses non-safety repairs. Toyota covers the cost of these corrections, even for vehicles out of warranty or not owned by the original purchaser.

4. How can I determine if my vehicle is involved in a recall or campaign?

Vehicle owners are notified through direct mail for both safety recalls and campaigns. Information about safety recalls may also be disseminated through print and broadcast media. To check for recalls or campaigns on your Toyota vehicle, submit your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) using the form on our website. We will then notify you of any recalls or campaigns and schedule an inspection, adjustment, or service if required.

5. Where can I find my VIN?

Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is located on the VIN plate on your vehicle's dashboard. You can also  find it on your sales agreement, insurance documents, or vehicle registration.

6. My vehicle is part of a recall. Do I need a recall notification for repairs?

If your recall letter instructs you to schedule the necessary repair with the dealer, you can simply make an appointment at Funk's Toyota to have the repair completed. No additional documentation is required.

We value your safety and aim to keep you informed about any necessary vehicle adjustments. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
