Once we verify the price and that the item is in stock and available for immediate sale and delivery, we will then match the lower advertised sale price. So why take the chance of putting your winter safety in the hands of just anyone when you can have one of our knowledgeable, qualified service technicians take your safety to the highest level possible.

Below are 3 reasons why winter tires are a MUST in Manitoba

1. All seasons are NOT great for all seasons. All tires have a temperature range they like to work in to give you their best performance. Summer tires like it hot, all-season tires like all things moderate and, of course, winter tires like it cold. The big factor many people don't know is that all these different types of tires all have somewhat equal grip when the temperature is 7 degrees C or above. As temperatures drop below 7 C, however, the winter tires start to shine by developing more grip while the all-season tire loses grip and the summer tire is just about useless. Winter tires are like all other equipment, when you have the right equipment it gets the job done fast easy and the most important SAFE.

2. Stopping distance is another HUGE factor when it comes to the "why" of winter tires. Did you know that Emergency stops with winter-tire-equipped vehicles are going to be controlled and accomplished in a significantly shorter distance than the vehicle donning all season tires? Even in dry conditions. Think about it, in a moment of distraction you won’t leave enough space and be out-braked by the car ahead. What’s your insurance deductible? Probably the same value as a set of winter tires.

3. As you know the Province of Manitoba has a great winter tire program.

The Winter Tire Program provides low-interest financing to eligible Manitobans at prime plus two per cent*, on up to $2,000 per vehicle. This financing can be used for the purchase of qualifying winter tires and associated costs from participating retailers.

To be eligible for the Winter Tire Program, you must:

  • be an individual (not corporate) Manitoba Public Insurance customer

  • purchase qualifying winter tires for a passenger vehicle or light truck (gross vehicle weight under 4541 kg) registered under your name

  • have no financing restrictions or outstanding arrears on your Manitoba Public Insurance account

This Financing can be applied to the purchase of eligible winter tires. Customers financing eligible winter tires may also receive financing on associated costs including:

  • rims

  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System

  • addition of studs to tires (some limitations apply)

  • mounting and balancing

  • storage costs (if paid during initial purchase)

  • switchover costs (if paid during initial purchase)

  • wheel alignment

  • valve stems

  • shop supplies

  • applicable taxes and fees

So do we really need to provide you with more reasons to stay safe this winter?
